Date of Passing: Aug 13, 2002
Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDA MAY MURPHY (nee BAXTER) January 22, 1917 - August 13, 2002 Freda died peacefully at the St. Boniface General Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband William, and she leaves her relatives in England, nephew and niece Paul and Sally Barber, surviving her. Fredas working career started in England. During the war years she was on Lord Beaverbrooks staff in London, and thereafter she decided to use her competency and rare personality as a senior secretary with a London law firm. As her legal career developed she also became intrigued with the idea of moving to Canada. She eventually settled in Winnipeg, and retired from the law firm of Thompson Dorfman Sweatman after many years with them. Fredas memory will be cherished by her close friends. She will be missed by her companions and staff at Lions Place. She delighted everyone she knew with her refreshing sense of humour and outlook on life. Cremation has taken place, and as Freda directed there will not be a service. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
