BRENDA ELIZABETH DAVIES (nee BENDELER) It is with great sorrow and grief we announce the passing of our mother, daughter, sister, friend and co-worker Brenda, on Thursday, August 15, 2002. After a determined and hard fought battle, Brenda succumbed peacefully in her sleep to cancer. Brenda was predeceased by her two grandmas, Mildred Elizabeth Belbin (August 1977) and Mary Kathleen Yaschuk (January 12, 1999). Surrounded by her many family members including her daughter Sheena (17) and son Chase (15), Brendas two loved children; her mother Mildred; father Richard; and her three brothers and seven sisters, Rick Bendeler (Linda), Patti Muench (Gerald), Bryan Bendeler (Carola), Sharon Dickerson (Dwight), Kathy Mensforth (Keith), Jo-Anne Stelmack (Terry), Diane Timmermann (Gert), Michele Ward (Andy), Steve Bendeler, and Cheryl Elliot (Dennis) and her many special nieces and nephews, she left us guided by a beautiful Rainbow. Brenda was born in Moose Jaw, SK on January 6, 1954. When she was 13 years of age, the family moved to Winnipeg where she resided until her death. Brenda was a devoted mother, and Sheena and Chase were her pride and joy. As a single parent, Brenda would willingly sacrifice her own dreams to the betterment of her children. Brenda was the oldest of 11 children of Mildred and Richard, and as such, was always looked upon for guidance whether it be a holiday or Christmas Dinner or outing to the beach. One of her favourite spots to relax was at St. Malo. This will remain a special place in the hearts of her children. Cancer can be at times a slow, insidious disease, so special mention must be made of the around-the-clock care she received which allowed her to spend most of her last months at home. The daily visits of her Mom and Dad, her sister Patti and brother Steve who moved into the family home, were a constant source of comfort and help to her. Brendas wishes were to be cremated, with a private family gathering to follow in celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. My Angel An angel is someone who watches over you, Someone who cares for you, and someone who loves you. An angel is a protector from harm, a guard, and a hero. An angel is someone who helps you, guides you, and is always there for you. My angel never had wings, a halo, or a white gown. But she watched over me, cared for me, and loved me. She protected me, guarded me, and was my hero. She helped me, guided me, and was always there for me. My angel was also my mother. And now she has wings, a halo, and a white gown. We love you always and forever Mom! Say hello to the King for us!
