LAWRENCE TOMIUK It is with deep sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Lawrence Tomiuk, beloved father of Jennifer and Christopher, and husband of Gail. Lawrence, the youngest of 11 children, was born February 11, 1950 in Springfield, MB, and was raised and educated in Elmwood. He graduated from Red River Community College and worked as a plumber by trade for numerous years. In his earlier years, Dad enjoyed hunting and fishing with all the boys, and most recently he enjoyed photography, board games and time spent at Winnipeg Beach. He always had a special passion for music, auto racing and muscle cars, which lives on in Chris. Along with his family, Lawrence leaves to cherish his memory sisters, Olga, Helen, Verna; brother Dennis and their families; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, especially Gloria, who we thank for all her care and compassion. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Anna; brothers, Jerry, Danny, Ed; sisters, Doris, Irene and Joyce. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 19 at St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church, 400 Day St., with Frs. A. Wach and M. Krochak officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lawrences memory may be made to Mood Disorder Society of MB, 4-1000 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0N3 or Addictions Foundation of MB, 1031 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0R8.
