JOSEPH E. HOLDEN December 31, 1915 - August 17, 2002 Joseph "Joe" E. Holden, aged 86 years, passed away peacefully with his son Bill and daughter Mary, nursing staff and Al at his side on Saturday, August 17, 2002, at Bethesda Personal Care Home in Steinbach, MB. Dad was predeceased by his parents Joe and Alice; sister Molly; son Ernie; and daughter Midge. He is lovingly survived by his wife Virginia (nee McMullen) his children, George, Vivian (Pat), Jim (Virginia), Bill (Louella), Mary, Ann (Peter) and Doreen; grandchildren, Michael, David, Janice, Shelly, Jaime, Derek, Eddie, Bridget, Dana, Amanda, Nicole, Kyle, Brittany and Chantalle; seven great-grandchildren; his brother George; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many close friends also cherish his memory and his witty sense of humour. Dad loved the outdoors and spent most of his life in East Braintree, MB, where he farmed, took great pride in his garden, and enjoyed going fishing. He spent many years in the logging industry, and during the summer months, he would work in Falcon Lake for Mike Senchuk. He proudly served his country during the Second World War in the Royal Canadian Armed Forces Reserve. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful doctors and staff at Steinbach Bethesda P.C.H. for their continuous care, love and support. A special thank you also to Al and Fred, and chaplain Larry Hirst for his prayer. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 22 at 7:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel (Hwy #1 East at Navin Road). Funeral service will take place on Friday, August 23 at 1:30 p.m. at East Braintree Community Church, East Braintree, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow in East Braintree Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Henning Hellesoe, Norman Nakka, Djon Hellesoe, Julian Andrusiak, Paul Andersen and Al Boucher. Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Senchuk. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of choice. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
