IRENE CLAIRE WILSON After a brief illness, Irene Wilson peacefully passed away on Friday, August 16, 2002, at the age of 70. Irene will be missed and lovingly remembered by Earl, her husband of 49 years; her son Bruce (Maureen) her daughter Lisa (Dylan) her grandchildren, Bronwen, Breanne, Gareth, Laura and Rhys; brothers, Ron, Al (Roselien), and Jim (Ethel) sisters, Rose (Glen) and Eleanor (Ron) as well as numerous relatives and friends. Irene was predeceased by her parents Ernie and Elizabeth May. Irene graduated from St. Johns High School and worked at the Department of Vital Statistics until she married Earl in 1953. She stayed at home raising her family and caring for her grandfather until his death. Later, Irene worked for Winnipeg Clinic and then Taxation Data Centre. Irene always cherished her cottage and retirement brought many happy summers there tending her flowers and garden. She also enjoyed bowling, crocheting, crossword puzzles and reading. Irene was a very caring, compassionate person who made friends easily and cherished their friendship throughout her life. The family wishes to sincerely thank all visitors and caregivers who have helped at this difficult time. Our special thanks to our friend, Lorna, for her caring support, and the wonderful, compassionate staff on 3E Wing at Riverview Health Centre and from Home Care. Memorial service will take place on Wednesday, August 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of ones choice.
