THELMA MAY SMITH (GUNNER) (nee HARDY) Peacefully on August 18, 2002 at the St. Norbert Nursing Home, Thelma Smith passed away at the age of 83 years. Thelma is survived by her children, Harriet Hay (Bill), Clifford Gunner, Dorothy Weber (Dennis), Allan Gunner (Barb) her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Lilian Caminha (Henry) and their children. Mom was born in Winnipeg on March 16, 1919 to Walter and Florence Hardy. In 1943 she married our father Frank Gunner (deceased in 1966). In 1982 she married Clarence Smith (deceased in 1994). The family wishes to thank the staff of the St. Norbert Nursing Home for the care they gave Mom. At our mothers request, cremation has taken place. Friends may meet with the family at the gates of Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave., on Monday, August 26 at 10:45 a.m. The service of committal will take place at Peace Niche at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8.
