Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL KARDAL Paul Kardal of Ninette, MB, passed away suddenly August 17, 2002, at the Trilake Health Centre. Paul was born in Blondous, Iceland, August 20, 1916. He came to Canada with his parents, brothers and sister in 1922. He was the youngest of 13 children. He grew up in Gimli. He married Martha Brodie of Winnipeg, July 1938 and they had five children. The family moved to Ninette in 1951 where another daughter was born. During his working career Paul was an independent fisherman, a mink rancher and worked at the Manitoba Sanitorium as a "Jack of all Trades" maintenance man until he retired in 1980. After the loss of his wife Martha, he later married Amy Kulberg. Paul was predeceased by his son Joey in 1945 at the age of three; Martha, wife of 43 years in 1980 and Amy, wife of 19 years in 2002; also by three son-in-laws, Earl Eggleton, 1976, Lloyd Lamb, 1995 and Dennis Ducharme, 2000. Paul is survived by daughters, Shirley Lamb of Ninette, Allice (Herbert) Haithwaite of Brandon, Grace Ducharme of Brandon, Eddy (Janet) Kardal of Carman, Nina (John) McGregor of Brandon; stepson, Jimmy (Doris) Warren of Ninette; stepdaughters, Verna (Allen) Palmer and Donna (Hy) Dubo of Winnipeg; and by 14 grandchildren, Brenda (Tom) Gutkenecht, Garry (Sherry) Lamb, Terry Lamb, David (Pam) Haithwaite, Janet (Bernie) Haithwaite Balt, Paul (Laura) Haithwaite, Eric (Sherry) Haithwaite, Wendy (Bill) Gyselman, Allan (Tanis) Ducharme, Martha (Chris) Ducharme, Shannon (Ian) Sylvester, Shawn Kardal, John McGregor and Dean McGregor; seven great-grandchildren, Kimberly Haithwaite, Kallie Lamb, Amanda Gyselman, Wesley Haithwaite, Kody Lamb, Brodie Gyselman and Jessi Ducharme. Paul was laid to rest at the Ninette Cemetery on August 22. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Killarney Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
