IVAN W. PENNER It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Ivan W. Penner, on Sunday, August 18, 2002 at Seven Oaks Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ivan is survived by his long-time companion, Verna Hagglund and family; his stepmother Stephanie Penner; brothers, Allan Penner, Norm Penner and Rick Penner (Marlene) nieces and nephew. Also his dedicated friend and neighbour John Beckner and his little gift who he loved so dearly and brought so much happiness into his life, Sheeba. Ivan was predeceased by his mother and father. Ivan worked for Canada Post from 1967 to retirement in 1991. Ivan loved aircraft and trains, Harleys and good food. Special thanks to Dr. S. Wong and Dr. H. Nyhof. An interment service will be held on Friday, August 23 at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family are asked to gather at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., 15 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, if so desired in memory of Ivan, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Winnipeg Humane Society.
