ISAAC UNRAU Born October 3, 1925 HELEN MARTENS UNRAU Born January 2, 1928 It is with great sorrow and grief that we announce the sudden passing of our parents, Isaac and Helen Unrau on August 17, 2002. Ike was born and grew up in the Winkler district. On July 25, 1948 he was married to Helen Martens of Neuhorst. After a few years in Morden, they established a family farm in Snowflake, MB. They semi-retired in 1980 to split their time between Snowflake, Texas, Winkler, and Grand Rapids. Ike enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing pool, and his grandchildren, while Helen enjoyed gardening, quilting, charity work, and her grandchildren. They were predeceased by their son Jack in 1980. They are survived by son Jim (Janice) and granddaughter Corina of Snowflake; daughter-in-law Vernelle and grandson Justin of Winnipeg; daughter Jenny (Allan Hiebert) and grand-children, Rebecca and Conrad of Calgary; and son Jeff and grandchildren, Troy and Destiney of Winnipeg. Funeral services will be held at Cornerstone Ministries Church in Crystal City on Thursday, August 22 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at La Riviere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted by MCC, 134 Plaza Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9, or the Food Grains Bank, 400-280 Smith St., Box 767, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2L4. We would like to thank the La Riviere Volunteer Fire Fighters for their quick response and compassion in this emergency. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grahams Funeral Services of Pilot Mound.
