LENA PETERS (nee VOGT) Peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2002 at the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris, Lena Peters (nee Vogt), aged 96 years, formerly of Winkler and Crystal City, went to her eternal rest. She was predeceased by her husband William W. Peters in 1982, one daughter Wanda Neufeld in 1989, one granddaughter Esther Helps in 2002. She leaves to mourn her four daughters, Elsie and her husband Henry Sawatzky of Morden, Hilda and her husband Peter Reimer of Killarney, Melita and husband Hassan Sayed of Fonthill, ON, Linda and husband Jack Reimer of Pinawa; two sons, Alvin and wife Herta of Winnipeg, Art and wife Leonore of Winnipeg; one son-in-law Jake and wife Anne Neufeld of Boissevain; 49 grandchildren; 54 great-grand-children; three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will take place on Thursday August 22 at 2:30 p.m. at the Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church, with Rev. Abe Reimer and Rev. Arnie Neufeld officiating. Interment will follow at the Winkler Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Box 119 Winkler, MB R6W 4A4.
