STELLA FONTAINE October 5, 1921 - August 21, 2002 Peacefully, at the Riverview Health Centre, Stella Fontaine, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away in the early morning hours. Stella was predeceased by her husband Gene Sr. in 1996, after 57 years of marriage. She will be forever missed by her devoted son Gene and wife Brenda of Winnipeg; son Cam and wife Linda of Calgary. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kim, Mike and Peyton, David and fiancee Rita, all of Winnipeg; Chad and fiancee Dana, Sean, Catherine, Hayden and Parke, Wade and Natalie, all of Calgary; also remembered by Brad, Krista and Emelia of Calgary. Stella was born in Montreal, the only daughter of Michalena Kijowski and John Rudzewich, moving to Manitoba at an early age. On August 28, 1938, she married Gene Sr. and together they made their home in St. Boniface, later moving to Transcona in the late 1970s, where she resided until her final years. Stella had been employed by Investors Group and Sever Signs. She had been a devoted member of St. Joseph the Worker Church for many years, attending church as much as she was able, until her health began to fail. The family would like to thank all the staff on 3E at Riverview Health Centre and also the staff of Concordia Oncology Department, for their kind and compassionate care of our mom, grandma and great-grandma, during her short stay there.
