Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET COUTTS (nee MARGUERITE MULLER) Peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2002, at West Park Manor, Margaret Coutts, aged 87 years, beloved wife of Winston Coutts and mother of Penny, Winston Jr., Larry, Robert and Richard. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and her sister Rita Muller of North Carolina. Margaret was predeceased by brothers, Alfred and Francois, twin brother Jules; and sister Yvonne. Margaret was born in St. Boniface, MB on June 18, 1915, and graduated from St. Josephs Academy. She worked for a number of years in the accounting department of the Hudsons Bay Company where she met her future husband, Winston. Married in Toronto on December 3, 1938, they lived in London, St. Thomas, Ottawa, and North Bay, ON, as well as Montreal, QC, during which time Margaret gave birth to five children between 1940 and 1955. Margaret and Winston returned to Winnipeg with their three youngest children in 1968. After retiring, Margaret and Winston began a 17-year volunteer career in the administration office of St. John Brebeuf Parish. A dedicated wife and mother, Margaret also spent many years working for various charities, as well as the Rotary Club and St. Pauls High School. She was a deeply spiritual woman who lived her Catholic faith with great devotion. She was an avid reader who enjoyed golf, curling, bowling and bridge, socializing with her many friends, and spending time with her grand-children. In her later years Margaret explored her blossoming artistic nature through painting and needlework. Throughout her life Margaret touched those around her with her humour, boundless energy, and caring. She will be sadly missed. Prayers will be said Sunday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 26 at St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Pl., with Fr. Joseph Driscoll celebrant. Cremation will follow and interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff of West Park Manor for their wonderful care and thoughtfulness. Flowers gratefully declined.
