FRERE LAURENT DUREAULT, o.m.i. 1929-2002 Paisiblement, apres une longue maladie, a lhopital Saint-Boniface est decede le Frere Laurent Dureault, o.m.i., le 20 aout 2002 a lage de 72 ans. En plus de sa famille religieuse, Les Oblats de Marie Immaculee, il laisse dans le deuil ses freres Maurice (Betty) et Jean (Diane), une soeur Armande Bird et une belle-soeur Doreen (feu Raymond) ainsi que nombreux neveux et nieces. Laurent Dureault est ne a Ponteix, Saskatchewan le 8 septembre 1929, fil de Armand Dureault et dEva Desharnais. Le 18 mars 1950, il prit lhabit chez les Oblats de Marie Immaculee a St-Laurent, Manitoba et prononca ses voeux perpetuels le 19 mars 1957 a Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan. Cest dabord en travaux generaux dingenieur et fermier que le Frere Dureault a fait valoir ses talents. Il restera 28 ans a Lestock, Saskatchewan, premierement a titre de fermier a lEcole indienne et apres, ingenieur a lhopital. En 1982, il vient a Saint-Boniface oeuvrer chez les Soeurs Oblates, ainsi quau Centre de Renouvellement Villa Maria, responsable de services dentretien. Il prit sa retraite en 2001 a la Casa Bonita a Saint-Boniface. Les Oblats et la famille Dureault desirent exprimer leur reconnaissance au personnel de linfirmerie a la Casa Bonita et a lhopital Saint-Boniface pour leur devouement au Frere Dureault pendant sa maladie. Les prieres auront lieu le jeudi, 22 aout a partir de 16h au Manoir - Salle Aubert, 474 rue Aulneau, Saint-Boniface. La messe de la Resurrection sera celebree le jeudi 22 aout a partir de 19h chez les Soeurs Oblates, 601, rue Aulneau a Saint-Boniface. Le visionnement, des 18h30. Linhumation a Ponteix, Saskatchewan. BROTHER LAURENT DUREAULT o.m.i. 1929-2002 Peacefully, on August 20, 2002, at the St. Boniface Hospital following a lengthy illness, Brother Laurent Dureault passed away at the age of 72. Besides his religious family, he leaves to mourn his brothers, Maurice (Betty) and Jean (Diane) one sister Armande Bird and sister-in-law Doreen. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Laurent Dureault was born in Ponteix, SK, son of Armand Dureault and Eva Desharnais. He entered the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in St. Laurent, MB on March 18, 1950 and pronounced his perpetual vows March 19, 1957 in Gravelbourg, SK. Brother Dureaults distinctive talents in farming and maintenance led him to Lestock, SK where he resided for 28 years working at the Residential school and the local hospital. In 1982, he moved to Winnipeg to work for the Oblate Sisters in Saint Boniface, then at the Villa Maria Renewal Center in Saint Norbert until the time of his retirement at the Casa Bonita in 2001. The Oblates and the Dureault family wish to express their appreciation to the nursing staffs at the Casa Bonita and the Saint Boniface Hospital for their care and devotion to Brother Dureault during his illness. A prayer vigil will be held at 474 Aulneau St. in Saint Boniface on Thursday, August 22 at 4:00 p.m. A funeral mass for Brother Laurent Dureault, omi, will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 22 with viewing beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Oblate Sisters, 601 Aulneau St., in Saint Boniface. Interment will take place in Ponteix, SK. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
