SADIE REBECCA (JOYCE) YAREMCHUK (nee ARKSEY) April 9, 1939 - August 19, 2002 Peacefully with her family at her side, Joyce passed into the arms of Jesus. Joyce was predeceased by Ed, her beloved husband of 42 years; mother Dora; father Wally; sisters, Winnifred and Doreen; brother Eric; and infant brother Dennis. She is survived by sister June (Eugene) brothers, Stanley (Iris), Kenneth, Donn (Myrtle) numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Walter (Gloria) sisters-in-law, Wanda (Adolf), Gladys (Gord) her loyal companion Yankee. Joyce, the youngest of eight children, was born in Welwyn, SK. She moved to Souris when she was in Grade 2 and graduated from Souris Collegiate in 1957. She worked in the Royal Bank and after obtaining her teaching certificate she taught in Libau. In Winnipeg she met her beloved husband Ed "Coach." Several years later, she was co-owner and manager of Yamato Restaurant. Joyces greatest pleasure was helping others. She was an active member of Young United Church for 40 years. She was a committee member of PLURA (Protestant, Lutheran, United, Roman Catholic, Anglican). She was also involved with the Native Ministries, AGAPE Table, CNIB and the Winnipeg Humane Society. Joyce enjoyed the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, reading, knitting, crosswords and travel. Joyce and Eddie had many memorable vacations throughout Canada and the United States. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Young United Church, Broadway at Furby. Rev. Bill Miller officiating. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, donations may be made to Young United Church or the Winnipeg Humane Society. "Dear Joyce, you were a most caring and loving person who brought much joy and laughter into our lives. You will never be forgotten and will live in our hearts forever."
