ARNE REIDULFF Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, it is with deep regret that we announce the death of Arne Reidulff on Thursday, August 22, 2002 at the Riverview Health Centre. He was 78 years of age. Arne leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 54 years of marriage, Alida (nee Jacobsen) three children: daughter Sissel (John) Lebedin of Regina; sons, Jan (Ina) Reidulff of Winnipeg, and Glenn (Jeannie) Reid of Regina; and sister Unni of Oslo, Norway. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Michael (Angela) and Katherine Lebedin, Sandra, Kimberly, and Richard Reidulff, Matthew, Taylor and Erik Reid; and great-grandchildren, Rebecca Rands and Joshua Reidulff. He also leaves to mourn his in-laws, Per and Aase Tryving of Oslo, Norway; sister-in-law Thorun Reidulff of Winnipeg; and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Norway. He was predeceased by his father Andreas (1956), mother Elsa (1999), and brother Odd (2000). Arne and his family emigrated from Norway in 1957 and settled in Sioux Lookout, ON where he began work as an aircraft mechanic with Transair Ltd. In 1961 the family relocated to Winnipeg where he continued his career with the airline as it changed to Transair/Mid-West, Pacific Western and Canadian Airlines. He retired in 1982 as Chief Inspector. Following retirement Arne enjoyed the time that he spent in Nanaimo, BC, Yuma, AZ, and especially at his cottage at Hillside Beach. At Arnes request cremation has taken place, and a private family service has been held. The family would like to thank Dr. Kirk and Dr. Crawford and all the staff, especially nurses, Cheryl and Helen, of 3 East Riverview Health Centre, for their wonderful care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arnes memory to the Palliative Care Unit in care of the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4.
