BERNADETTE "BUNNY" CARROLL (nee GOYETTE) September 18, 1911 - August 23, 2002 On Friday, August 23, 2002 Bernadette Carroll passed away peacefully with her family by her side, just shy of her 91st birthday. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Maryellen Ali, Corinne Swartz, Margaret Mackender of Niagara Falls, NY; son Michael Carroll; grandchildren, Gail (Bryan) Oborne, Carl and Alana Swartz from Winnipeg, Juanita (Brian) Hutchings, Frank (Emelie) Campagna, John (Melody) Campagna, Trudy (Rick) Hinchley from Ontario, Tom (Pat) Carroll of Niagara Falls, NY; great-grandchildren, Louise and Olivia Oborne from Winnipeg; as well as numerous great-grandchildren from Ontario and Niagara Falls, NY. Bernadette was predeceased by her husband Thomas Carroll; her sisters, Corinne Lovelady, Gemmetta Perry, Marguerite Lacy, Cecilia Fryer; and by her daughter Gertrude Campagna. "Bunny" was a woman of few words with a very gentle spirit. She especially loved the company of children. She would greet her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a sparkle in the eye and a big smile. Bernadette was born September 18, 1911 in Thunder Bay, ON (formally Fort William). She married the love of her life Thomas Carroll in Thunder Bay where they had two children, Maryellen and Michael. They moved to Winnipeg in 1953. While pregnant with their third child her beloved husband became ill. Corinne was born in 1954. Bernadette lovingly nursed her ailing husband for 10 years while raising a young family. Prayers will be held on Monday evening, August 26 at 7:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Memories in Wojciks All Beliefs Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave. at Sharp Boulevard. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 27 at 10:30 a.m., in St. Lukes Chapel in the Misericordia Health Centre, second floor - 99 Cornish Ave., with Rev. Fr. Vince Herner presiding. Interment will be held at a later date in Thunder Bay, ON. The family wishes to thank the staff of the second floor at the Misericordia Interim Care for their help and care, especially in the last few days of Bunnys life. We found much comfort in your kind words and gestures. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Bunnys memory to the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba Inc., 4-1000 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 1N7. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there I do not sleep I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumns rain. When you awake in the mornings hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there I did not die. WOJCIKS ALL BELIEFS & FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
