WALTER (WALLY) J. HOOTH 1917 - 2002 It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Walter John Hooth on Friday, August 23, 2002. Wally is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife of 54 years, Katherine, sister May Zaparniuk, sister-in-law Marie Bazylewicz, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Wally was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary; sisters, Annie and Helen; and brother Malcolm. Wally was raised and educated in Transcona. He served in the Canadian Army Infantry Corps, his rank was a gunner. After 36 years of service with CN Railway (Symington Yards - diesel shop), he retired in 1982. Prayers will be held on Sunday, August 25 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Munroe and Watt, with Rev. Fr. Darren Kawiuk officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Ave. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice in Wallys memory.
