BARBARA JOAN BURTNIAK (nee BURNS) On Saturday, August 24 Barbara Joan passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. Barbara was born at Winnipeg General Hospital January 23, 1931. Barbara attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate 1947 to 1949. An avid volleyball, basketball, hockey player and all star track and field. Also participating in school operas and choir. She was an active member of Donnelly United Church. and a very devoted Bomber fan. All outdoor activities were her passion. Barbara is predeceased by her mother Mildred, father Harold and sister Shirley. Survived by her loving, devoted husband Edward; only son Darren; daughter Cindy-Lou and son-in-law Lee Hicks of Russellville, AR; beloved sister to Robert Burns of St. Anne, MB; Donnie Burns of Toronto, ON, and one sister Jacqueline Davidoff of Richmond, BC. Memorial service to be held on Tuesday, August 27 at the Donnelly United Church at 1226 Waller Ave., Ft. Garry, at 1:00 p.m. The family would like to specially thank Dr. Hayward, Dr. Maxwell, Dr. Crowe, Dr. Scurrah and the wonderful staff at Palliative care unit St. Boniface Hospital. Very special thank you to our dear friend Denyse Whalley.
