Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUGUST MATTERN On Sunday, August 25, 2002, at the Concordia Hospital, August Mattern, late of Anola, MB, passed away at the age of 92. August was born November 20, 1909, in Monominto and resided in the Monominto area for most of his life. August is survived by his sister Pauline Kruchak, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was predeceased by five sisters and three brothers. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Walter Kotchorek, Don Brandenburg, Bob Corneillie, Albert Thompson, Stuart Thompson and Roland Kruchak. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 29 at 1:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., with viewing one hour before service. Rev. Charlotte Kalthoff officiating. Interment to follow at Monominto Cemetery. Should friends so desire, memorial donations made to the Manitoba Heart Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8, would be appreciated. The family wishes to thank Dr. Lemoine of Ste. Anne, doctors and nurses at Concordia Hospital, home care workers Cherie and Tracy, and also the residents of Sunrise Lodge for their care and compassion.
