WILLIAM J. LINDLEY 1908 - 2002 It is with deep sorrow that our family announces the passing of our father, grand-father and great-grand-father, William J. Lindley, on Sunday, August 25, 2002, at Central Park Lodge, at the age of 93. Dad was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Emma, on March 24, 1993. Left to cherish his memory are his son Alex (Yvonne), daughter Lila (Noel), and son Billy (Muriel), together with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will also be fondly remembered by his family and friends in Belfast, Northern Ireland and Sydney, New South Wales. Dad was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on November 21, 1908, and for 40 years worked for Short Bros. and Harland as an aircraft fitter. Upon his retirement he came to Winnipeg and enjoyed many happy years in Canada. At the latter part of his life, Alzheimers took control and with the loss of memory, went Dads most appealing quality, his storytelling. Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will take place and he will be laid to rest with his wife in the Transcona Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff, particularly the 11th floor, Central Park Lodge, for all of their care and compassion. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Dads memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2. Bill will now be with Emma.
