Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAZEL IRENE BROADHEAD (nee GUNN) Hazel Irene (nee Gunn) passed away peacefully at Glengarry Hospital, Victoria, on August 26, 2002 after a long and rewarding life. Predeceased by her husband Alex H.; two brothers, Theo (killed in action in France during the First World War) and Lewis; and one sister Ethel B. Glenday. Survived by a nephew Ian Glenday of Orangeville, ON; and nieces, Marjorie Dippie of Redmond, WA and Brenda Trout of Edmonton, AB. Remembered with fondness by eight great-nephews and nieces. Born in Winnipeg on October 2. 1904 of pioneer stock. Hazel lived and worked in Vancouver and Seattle in customer service before retiring to Victoria. She was an avid singer and a member of the Bach Choir of Vancouver for many years. Hazel was an enthusiastic traveller who delighted in seeing new things and meeting new people. She made many friends along the way with her sunny disposition, gracious charm and willingness to help whenever called upon. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 31 at McCall Bros. Family Chapel, Johnson and Vancouver Streets at 10:00 a.m. Her friends are invited to join the family in saying farewell to a truly grand lady.
