WALTER ERNEST GERING On August 28, 2002, at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB, with his family by his side, Walter Gering, aged 77 years, of Moosehorn, MB. Walter was born and raised on the family farm in Faulkner, MB. He stayed on the family farm working with his brother Rudolf after his parents retired in Grahamdale. He farmed until 1985 when he retired to Ashern and later returned to Moosehorn. He worked for John Niemczyk and Springer Bros., making hay after his retirement. He liked playing cards and enjoyed listening to the radio broadcast "Polka Party" on Saturday nights. Many people enjoyed a cup of coffee with him whenever they visited. Walter is survived by his sister-in-law Edith, along with numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Wilhelm and Rosalie; brothers, Gustav, Rudolf, Albert, Earl, Robert and Roy; sister Clara; sisters-in-law Elsie, Estelle and Marion; brother-in-law Edward Kulman; and niece Linda Gibson. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 2, at the Faulkner Community Hall with Rev. Gregory W. A. Saar officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Interment to follow in the Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gordon Gering, Ralph Gering, Larry Gering, Ed Springer, Herb Springer and Wayne Corney. Special thanks to all the Home Care Workers and staff of the Lakeshore General Hospital for their care and kindness they showed Walter during his stay.
