ANASTASIA (NETTIE) KERELIUK (nee WAPRUK) Peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2002, Anastasia (Nettie) Kereliuk of Sundown, MB passed away at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 90 years. Nettie was predeceased by her husband Philip in 1997. Left to mourn her passing are her sons, Paul (Mary), Mike (Margaret), Tony, Philip (Rose) her daughters, Margaret (Norman) Perchaluk, Irene Bouris, Elizabeth (Gene) Happychuk, Marian Bjornson, Theresa (Michael) Narth; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Helen Osachuk, Val Anderson; her brothers, Mike, Paul, Bill and Stan Wepruk; many relatives and friends. A dedicated wife and mother, Nettie also spent many years working for the Sundown Ukrainian Catholic Womens League (was one of the founders more than 50 years ago), Ukrainian plays, choir and 4-H. She was a deeply spiritual woman who lived her Catholic faith with great devotion. She was an avid reader, cross-stitcher, gardener, bingo and tile rummy player. She enjoyed socializing with her many friends and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her later years she appreciated and enjoyed the company of her home care workers, Pat Miller, Beverly Sawka and Serena Andrusiak. Throughout her life Nettie touched those around her with her humour, conversation, baking, boundless energy and caring. She will be sadly missed. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, September 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Loewen Funeral Chapel in Steinbach. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ascension Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sundown.
