Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA WESNER It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at the Vita Personal Care Home on August 28, 2002. Mom was born in Novograd, Russia on January 21, 1910 and moved to Canada at the age of 17. She spent her early years in this country working in Frobisher, SK where she met her future husband Jonathan Wesner. They were married in Winnipeg on January 8, 1938 and soon after moved to Sprague. They settled on the farm where they remained until moving to the Personal Care Home in Vita. Mom found a great deal of enjoyment in her garden, her flowers and her kitchen. Nothing would please her more than seeing a bountiful harvest, a clean flower bed and friends coming back for seconds at meal time. Her hands were never idle. She had natural creative talent and any free moments found her expressing these through crocheting intricate designs or creating pictures from cloth and thread. Mom was predeceased by her husband Jonathan and grandson Peter. She leaves to mourn, her children, Gary (Olga) Wesner, Dave (Doreen) Wesner, Ruth (George) Bartinski, Donna (Eldon) Kerbes; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Vita Personal Care Home for their kindness and care shown our mother. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Sprague Community Hall with Rev. Erling Huglen officiating. Interment will follow in the Sprague Community Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the hall prior to the service. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel of Steinbach. 204-326-1351.
