Born to be a farmer, Ted pursued many agricultural activities. Farming at Hazel Glen, 4-H Dairy Club leadership and National Dairy Cattle Showmanship all highlighted his early years. Diplomas in Agriculture (1960 - Valedictorian) and Dairy Science (1975) from the University of Manitoba and Dairy Manager at the Rockwood Institute, completely fulfilled Teds love for agriculture. Away from the farm, community leadership and dedication to amateur sports provided countless hours of enjoyment. Ted presided over the Clandeboye Community Club, the Highway 9 Boys & Girls Baseball League, the Selkirk Parks & Recreation Board and the Selkirk Mariners Jr. Mens Baseball team. Teds unique ability to treat people with respect and honesty drew great admiration from both professional and personal relationships. A laid back and relaxed attitude characterized Teds positive approach to life. His children and grandchildren benefited greatly from this approach along with his endless expressions of pride and support. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 4 at the St. Georges Wakefield Anglican Church at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Canon Godfrey Mawejje officiating. Interment to follow in the Churchyard Cemetery. For your outside comfort, please bring a lawn chair.
