DOROTHY MARGARET DALENGER Peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2002 with her family at her side, Dorothy Dalenger went to be with her Lord. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Linda; son-in-law Jerry; grandsons, Richard (Chantal) and Curtis; great-granddaughter Rachel; sisters, Lillian Waletzky and Wynne (Lloyd) Rushworth; sisters-in-law, Mary Shane and Margaret Dalenger. She was predeceased by her husband Dave; parents, Adam and Matilda Koch; and sister Eleanor Handkamer. Dorothy and Dave were married in 1939. They shared 57 happy years together. After retirement Dorothy and Dave enjoyed many travelling adventures together. Dorothy was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church until its close in 2001. She then became a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was very involved with the Ladies Aid and was a Bethel Series teacher. She was always a willing volunteer. Dorothy had great faith and courage and was an inspiration to many as she endured so much pain in her later years. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff in the Evergreen Unit at Fred Douglas Lodge for their kindness, excellent care and compassion shown to Dorothy, the faithful visits of longtime friend Ruth Ruff and to Joyce McLean for her visits and making sure mom attended church and all the other special events. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4 at Christ Lutheran Church, 815 Inkster Blvd., with Pastor Don Engel officiating. Viewing prior to the service. Interment at Brookside Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, 105-386 Broadway Ave., R3C 3R6; Fred Douglas Lodge, 1275 Burrows Ave., R2X 0B8 or Christ Lutheran Church, 815 Inkster Blvd., R2X 1N3.
