JAN GARBACZ It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and untimely death of our dear father and grandfather Jan Garbacz, who passed away at Health Sciences Centre on August 31, 2002. Predeceased by his wife Rose in September, 1985. Gigi will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Debbie (Barry), Georgina (Stan) and by his grandchildren, Kevin and Samantha. Dad was born in Poland on December 17, 1923. Coming to Canada in 1949, he worked various jobs and then settling at Dominion Bridge. He worked there for 35 years retiring in 1987. Dad was an avid gardener who loved planting his garden. He was the envy of the neighbours with his garlic and onions. If not gardening he would be seen riding his bike, going for long walks or sitting on his lawnchair. He enjoyed playing Lotto 649 and always dreamed of being a big winner. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
