Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMADLEN MARKIEWICZ-OSTAFF April 1, 1930 - August 29, 2002 It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Madlen. Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 72 years, with her loving family at her side. Madlen was born in Poland and she survived the war with all of its hardships. She immigrated to Canada in 1955 with her daughters and late husband Chester. She was predeceased by her first husband, Chester in 1986; father Ivan in 1939; and mother Sofia of Germany in 1990. Madlen leaves to mourn her loving husband and best friend George OStaff; daughters, Candy (Robert) Small, and Terry (Robert) Dion; grandchildren, Clint, Kevin and Jason; five great-grandchildren, Kendra, Kole, Kane, Konner, Bradey; sister Christel (Alwin) Kuiper of Germany; brother Joseph (Paula) Mosinski of Vienna, Austria; as well as many nieces and nephews in Europe. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. With Madlens wishes, cremation has taken place, and the service will conclude in the chapel. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. The family would like to thank the 3rd floor nurses and staff at the Riverview Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 875 St. Marys Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 3P8.
