SHARON KATHY DRUL (nee MOSEWICH) It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of their beloved wife, mother and daughter Sharon. She left us at the age of 51 on Sunday, September 1, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre after a courageous battle with cancer. Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 29 years, Ernest; children, Jeremy, wife Jayne, Ryan and Tracy; mother, Mary Mosewich; and numerous other close family and friends. Sharon was born in Winnipeg on April 12, 1951. She lived and went to school in Winnipeg, spending her summers on the farm near Olha, MB. On June 16, 1973, she married Ernest Drul and together they raised their family in Winnipeg. Sharon was an extremely generous individual who volunteered endless hours to the schools that her children attended, her church, Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural Centre, Folklorama Kyiv Pavilion and Veselka Summer Camp of which she was an executive member for many years. No task was ever too great for Sharon. She always helped her family, friends and community with a smile and cheerful attitude. She had a special gift for crafts and gardening, and a great passion for Pysenka writing. During her illness, her recent craft endeavour, Folk Art Painting, brought her much pleasure. Throughout her adult life, Sharon had many different jobs including secretary at Manitoba Parents for Ukrainian Education, ran a day care in her home, worked as a receptionist at Birchwood Honda and most recently as a Customer Service Representative at the Winnipeg Free Press in the Flyer Advantage Division. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre and CancerCare Manitoba. Prayers will be held at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary The Protectress, 820 Burrows Ave. at Sinclair, Winnipeg, on Thursday, September 5 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 6 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Cathedral with Father J. Buciora officiating. Interment to follow at the Glen Eden Cemetery, 4477 Main St., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sharons memory to CancerCare Manitoba and the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress. Arrangements entrusted to Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, 586-8044.
