PAULINE LYSAK (nee POPOWICH) After a courageous battle with cancer, Pauline Lysak, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Pauline was born in the R.M. of St. Andrews on November 13, 1920. She met Tony and they were married on September 20, 1947. Together they worked the farm in Oak Hammock. After Tony passed away in 1971 Pauline moved to Winnipeg where she worked at various jobs. Prior to her retirement she worked at Fred Douglas Lodge. Mom was devoted to her family and she was always there when we needed her. Besides her husband Tony she was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Alex, Bill (Doris), Paul, Mike and Norman (Marge) brother-in-law Nick Senkiw. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Richard (Marilyn) daughters, Judy Miazga (Don), Debra Bolonchuk (Dale) grandchildren, Melodye Shymkiw (Silvano), Ryan Shymkiw (Denise), Craig Lysak (Monica), Keith Lysak, April Lysak, Alan Bolonchuk, Drew Bolonchuk, Jason Miazga, Kristine Miazga (Matt) great-grandchildren, A.J., Robert, Anthony and Alexander; sisters, Mary Senkiw, Eva Beach (Dave), Rose Popowich; brothers, Steve (Gwen), George (Marian) and Stan; sisters-in-law, Anne, Alice, Marie Popowich; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Prayers will be held on Thursday, September 5, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 6 at 9:30 a.m. at the Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 1175 Main St. Interment will follow in the Rossdale Orthodox Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, donations may be made in Paulines memory to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation (for Palliative Care Unit 8A Patient Care Fund), 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.
