MARY IRENE McDERMOT January 23, 1905 - September 1, 2002 Peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday, September 1, 2002 at Victoria Hospital. Mary was the last of her familys generation, born and raised in Sturgeon Creek. She was predeceased by her father Andrew Thomas in 1919 and her dear mother Harriet Ann in 1966. Also predeceasing Mary were three brothers, Percy, Andrew and Cyril and three sisters, Margaret, Sadie and Jesse. Mary will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephew and their families. She was a very dedicated and loving caregiver to her mother and in later years to her sister Jesse. Marys entire working career of 40 years was spent at MTS. She had been retired since 1969. During her early retirement Mary enjoyed her many trips abroad. Mary was a true Christian with a strong and abiding faith that her God and Saviour would one day take her home to be reunited with her loved ones. Our sincere thanks to the owners and staff at Thorvaldson Care Home for all the care and attention they provided over the past eight years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and celebration of Marys life will be held at a later date to be announced.
