FLORENCE A. COTTRELL (SUTTON) October 27, 1912 - September 1, 2002 On Sunday, September 1, 2002, our beloved Mom, Nonie, sister, aunt and friend peacefully surrendered to her eternal rest with her family at her side. Born to Alice and Fred Sutton in Roland, MB, Florence enjoyed her formative years on the family farm until coming to Winnipeg as a young woman to work. It was in Winnipeg she met Arthur Cottrell and they were married June 14, 1947. Moms life was one of nurturing, loving and teaching by example that goodness was to be seen in all. A kind, sweet lady full of grace, she will also be remembered for her quick wit and delightful sense of humour. Moms courage and strength have been an inspiration to all who knew her. If we have inherited a fraction of her goodness, we are truly blessed! Her memory will be forever cherished by her two daughters, Brenda Yip and Pat Dixon and son-in-law Rick; her dearly loved grandchildren, Tyler (Anna), Derek and Sarah Yip. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Edna and Hilda (Norm) sister-in-law, Grace; and her brothers, Wilmot (Velma), and Norman (Loretta) as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom enjoyed her longtime friendships with her Fort Garry neighbours who were always there to lend a helping hand in her later years. Mom was also blessed with and treasured the dear friends she had known most of her life. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Art in 1987; her son-in-law, Tod in 2001; her brother Ken in 1996; sisters, Hazel, Eva and Leonore; as well as brother Raymond in childhood. Special thanks to doctors and staff of HSC Central and Sherbrook Dialysis units for their loving care and encouragement over the last five years. The family also wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Deer Lodge Centre for the care and comfort they provided. A celebration of her life will be held at Thomson Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 5 at 1:00 p.m. with cremation to follow. Viewing will take place one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may make a donation in Moms memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch, 200-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8 or CNIB, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3G 3M3 A beautiful spirit - Mom is, and always will be the best in all of us. We will miss you, Nonie! THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
