PHILIP LESKIW On August 31, 2002, Philip passed away peacefully at Wentworth Arms in Dundas, ON. Philip was born on November 25, 1912, in Brodu, Poland and came to Canada in 1921. In 1941 he joined the Army (Service Corps) and served overseas until the end of the war. Returning to Canada he then went to Hamilton, ON and took a bricklaying course and was employed by Stelco until he retired. Philip is survived by nieces, Joyce McGregor, Audrey Munt in Winnipeg and Dianne LaBeau and two nephews, Earl and Richard LaBeau from Michigan, USA. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Marie Ferguson and Tekla LaBeau. Philip loved to travel and travelled all over the world and loved to tell stories about the different countries. He was also known for giving a helping hand to anyone that was in need, remembering how hard it was during the Depression. A graveside service will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave., on Saturday, September 7 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the charity of ones choice.
