EDNA PHILLIPS Peacefully, on Tuesday, September 3, 2002, Edna Phillips went to meet her Lord, with her family by her side. She goes to be with her parents; husband Harry; her two sons, Lionel and John; one daughter Merle; and her four brothers and one sister. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Winnie (Louis), Geraldine (Ray), Carol (Gabe), Linda (Leo) her sons, Henry (Isabel), Archie (Eileen), Stu (Sue), Brian and Robert. She will also be missed by four sisters and one brother and their families, as well as her many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She was GiGi to her many great-grandchildren. Mother loved going to her bingos, baking and knitting. She was well known for her chicken dumpling soup and her pies. She worked at Woodys for 18 years and always talked about the tricks Woody played on her. There will be viewing and prayers on Thursday, September 5 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour. A wake service will be held on Friday, September 6 starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Manigotagan Community Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m., also at the Manigotagan Community Center, with Fr. Lavalle Cloutier officiating. Interment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery in Manigotagan. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in Pinawa Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion to our mother. Thank you to the people that drove her to her bingos. Thank you to the girls and Daryle for being so caring when she moved to Bonny Vista and to her friends that dropped by to visit. SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, Beausejour, 268-3510 or Man.
