ANTONY HOLATKO Peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Wednesday, September 4, 2002, Antony Holatko, aged 78, passed away after a lengthy illness. He will be lovingly remembered by Helen, his wife of 55 years; sons, Jim (Darlene and sons Craig and Neil) of Sudbury, ON, Charles (Monique and children Michael, Robert and Suzanne), Jerry (Jane and son Shawn) and daughter Linda. Also, brother Karl (Luba) of Ingersol, ON; sister Ann Haluza of Toronto, ON; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tony was predeceased by his parents and his oldest brother Joseph. Born in Poland, Tony came to Canada at a young age with his family where they settled in Saskatchewan. Tony and Helen were married in 1946 and moved to Poplar Point where they farmed until 1964. They moved to Winnipeg and Tony was employed with the St. James Assiniboia School Division until his retirement in 1988. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0J7 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 22, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 9 at 1:30 p.m. at Blessed John XXIII Church, 3390 Portage Ave. Viewing will be held one half hour prior to the service time.
