Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJERRY KATZ Jerry Katz passed away suddenly on August 26, 2002 at the age of 63. He fought a two and a half year battle with cancer. Jerry is survived by his children, Eden, Amber and Michael Katz; his sister Vivian Rosenberg; and his nephews, Harold, Teddy and David Rosenberg and their families. In addition, he is sadly and dearly missed by all other family and many dear friends; and Elmur Katz (the cat). Jerry was born November 10, 1938 on the eve of Kristal Nacht (Night of Broken Glass) in Austin, TX, U.S.A. He was the son of Rabbi Harold and Edith Katz (nee Oberman). Jerry owned the White House restaurant on Selkirk Avenue many years ago and was famous for his White House ribs. Jerrys children have always been his greatest pride and joy. He spent the last 30 years of his life unconditionally caring and providing for his children. Jerry was well known for his peculiar sense of humour and generous character. It is not often that you meet a man that had one son, but financed four Bar Mitzvahs. Jerry always had to pick up the bill. He always knew how to make you laugh. Jerry was nicknamed "Doc" by his friends, as he was renowned for being wise and knowledgeable. People often turned to Jerry for help, advice and a dependable shoulder to lean on. Jerry was fiercely loyal, forgiving, understanding and accepting. Dad, I am really going to miss your sweet beautiful soul. I really enjoyed our schpatzeers to Polo Park and Chapters for coffee. I really enjoyed your friendship and companionship in addition to being your daughter. I love you. Eden. Dad, words cannot express what losing you means to me. You will always be the dearest of dear people. You have taught me a lot more than you think, and I will live by that. Thank you for making me all that I am and that we are. Amber. Dad, babe coolio babe babe KID! I got an A+. Real Nachas. I will make you proud. No day shall pass that I wont think about your words of wisdom and the love that you gave. You ARE the most important person in my life. You live on within me. I love you with all my heart. Michael. Jerry Katz will be dearly missed by all friends and family. We love you Dad.
