ELSIE MURIEL LANHAM (DOERR) Elsie was born in Manor, SK April 14, 1910 and entered into eternal rest on September 3, 2002. Elsie had resided in Winnipeg since 1942. She received her early education in Manor and later completed a training program in the clothing manufacturing industry. Elsies employment started in the clothing industry in 1943 and ended in 1956 when she married George Lanham. Left to mourn Elsies passing are sons, Ronald F. Doerr and wife Marianne, David R. Lanham, both of Winnipeg; sister Ina Markle of Kennedy, SK; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; a special cousin Ruth Dennis of Wawota, SK. Elsie was predeceased by her husband George 1964; son Richard S. Lanham, 1996; parents, Arwing and Mabel Doerr; sister Mabel Dunford; and nephew Raymond Dunford. Elsie accepted the challenge of single parenthood for many years. She acquired two additional sons when she married George Lanham. During most of Elsies adult life she suffered from schizophrenia. This did not affect her performance in the workplace, but caused many problems in her relationships with people. Elsie was baptized and confirmed in the Anglican Church and was an active participant during Georges lifetime at St. Cuthberts and St. Albans Church. The family would like to thank Drs. L.C. Bartlett, James J. Wiens, D.F. Birt and staff at the Grace Hospital, also to the doctors and staff at Extendicare at Oakview Place for the care and support. We also wish to extend our appreciation to Dr. Noran De Muller and all the nursing staff at Deer Lodge who cared and supported Mother during her last 11 days. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Mothers memory may be made to a charity of your choice. In memory of Mother, a private family graveside service is planned in Manor, SK on Saturday, September 7, with Rev. Michelle Moore presiding. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
