Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHERESE GIRARDIN (nee CORMIER) Peacefully after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side, our dear and loving mother Therese Girardin passed away on September 7, 2002 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 86 years and eight months. Left to mourn are her 12 children, Gilles (Claire), Clement (Joan), Norbert (Andree), Brunel (Marie-Rose), Anita (Raymond) Rouire, Paul (Betty), Alain (Suzanne), Hughette (Mark) Majcher, Marcel (Christine), Mariette (Rob) Rougeau, Lynne (Charlie) Hoffer, Gisele; 24 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Monique Laurin, Andree Lemoine, Agathe Rochon, Armande McKenna, Gisele Isabey, Pauline Durand; her brothers, Lucien, Benoit, Edmond and Alain Cormier. Mom was predeceased by her husband Arsene in December 1996; a daughter Hughette; her parents, Charles and Sophie Cormier; her brothers, Camille and Aime. Mom was born and raised in La Salle, MB January 1, 1916. She married Arsene on September 22, 1936. The family moved on a farm in St. Claude in 1950 and after their retirement in 1977, they moved to St. Boniface. Mom was an excellent cook, and enjoyed baking for the annual St. Claude Fair. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting, playing cards with family and friends. She was an avid Bingo player, and both Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling. Cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 10 at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 200 Kenny St., with Fr. Marcel Chaput presiding at 10:30 a.m. A very special thanks to Dr. Julie Levesque, Dr. Lotocki, and the devoted staff of the sixth floor ECU Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for the excellent care given to our mother.
