Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY KOTERLA (nee FIGOL) October 13, 1907 - September 6, 2002 Peacefully, at the Betel Home, in Selkirk, MB on Friday, September 6, our beloved mother, Mary Koterla, passed away. Mom was born in the Ukraine and came to Canada at the age of five with her parents and older brother Stephen. They settled in Narol, MB. After her marriage to George Koterla in 1929, they resided briefly in Detroit, MI before returning to Manitoba and making Gonor their permanent residence. In 1992 Dad left us to be with the Lord. In 1996, Mom took up residence at the Betel Home in Selkirk. Besides Dad, Mom was also predeceased by her daughter, Noreen Nerbus (2001) son Henry (1933) and son-in-law, Frank Wesley (1972) her parents, William and Alexina Figol and all her siblings and their spouses. Mom is survived by her daughters, Irene (Gordon) Saltner and Evelyn Wesley; and son Ernie (Helen) Koterla; son-in-law Bill Nerbus; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A private family service will be held, with burial taking place at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Cemetery, Gonor, MB with Father Henry Lakusta officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at the Betel Home for their kindness, caring and understanding during the time Mom spent with them. Gilbart Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
