RUBY BUECKERT (nee BROWN) Ruby passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Sunday, September 8, 2002. She was predeceased by her husband Bill (October 2000) sisters, Louise, Marge and Dorothy; and brothers, Jack and Garnet. She is survived by one sister Gladys (Walter) Dick of Victoria, BC. She will be remembered with love by her children, Elaine (Jack) Reid, Bill and Bob; grandchildren, Rob, Leanne, Rick, Cindy and Shelaine; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Manitou, Ruby married and moved to Winkler to raise her family. In 1962 they moved to Winnipeg and shortly afterward she began the career she dearly loved at Childrens Hospital, retiring in 1982. The most important thing in Rubys life was surrounding herself with family, and nothing was allowed to stand in the way of one of her famous get-togethers. Ruby and Bill spent many enjoyable years at their summer place at Lee River, where they indulged themselves in their hobbies of gardening and forestry. Many thanks for the wonderful care Ruby received at Riverview Health Centre. A memorial service will be held in the Riverview Centre Chapel, No. 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 12. Rev. Glen Horst officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rubys honour to the Childrens Wish Foundation, or a charity of choice.
