JAMES A. BUCKINGHAM Peacefully, with his family by his side James A. Buckingham (Bucky) passed away on September 9, 2002 at the age of 93. Jim resided at Catherine Place in St. Boniface for the last five years. He lived previous years in East Kildonan, Transcona and Stony Mountain where he raised his family. Bucky was a mechanical instructor at the Stony Mountain Correctional Institute for 30 years retiring in 1972. Jim is survived by his son Doug (Joan), and granddaughter Tina; his daughter Brenda Johnston and grandsons, Keith and Kyle; and his great-grandson Bradley. His children played a very important role in his life and they will especially remember the fun we all had at his last birthday this August. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Betty; his son Robert; son-in-law Wayne; and his two brothers, Gordon and Harry. Sports always were a big part of Buckys life, even up to the last month. He always had a love for baseball, curling and golf. Dad was a life member of the Stony Mountain Curling Club and the Transcona Golf Club where he spent many hours teeing off with his partner George. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be on Friday, September 13, at 2:00 p.m. in the Stony Mountain United Church with interment to follow. Thank you to Dr. Taylor and all the staff at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion during Dads brief visit. Special thanks to Dr. I. Mohammed who has been there for Dad for many years and continued to be with him until the end. God has called you Home Dad, To be with Mom again.
