Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD AMOS ATTWATER Ed passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2002, at the age of 85 years at the Misericordia Place. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. Ed is survived by daughters, Marilyn (Ken) Holland and Yvonne (Ron) Einarson; grandchildren, Ian (Serena), Andrew, and Colleen Holland; Neal and Louise Einarson; great-granddaughter Lauren Holland; brother-in-law Charles Cobb; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Jim) Benzies, Doris (Bob) Minson and Ivy Phillips; cousin Muriel (Finlay) Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Elsie; parents, Louisa and Harry; sister Jessie Cobb; sister-in-law Lillian Phillips and brother-in-law Edward Phillips. Ed was born at home in West Kildonan on January 17, 1917. He attended St. Annes Anglican Church as a child and young adult. Ed also attended St. Chrysostoms where he was a faithful vestry member, St. Barnabas and St. Peters Parishes where he was a willing participant in any project. Ed worked at the Burns Meat Packing Plant until he joined the Winnipeg Light Infantry in 1942 and subsequently worked at the Canadian Pacific Railway until his retirement in 1982. Eddie and Elsie were married on May 30, 1942. They were members of the Kildonan Couples Club and the Westview Dance Club for many years. They enjoyed wonderful holidays together. A private family burial will be held. Pallbearers will be Ken, Ian and Andrew Holland, Ron and Neal Einarson and David Cobb. A memorial service will be held at St. Peters Anglican Church, Grant Avenue and Elm Street on Thursday, September 12 at 11:30 a.m. The Reverend Phil Barnett will officiate. The family would like to thank George Oelkers for his faithful weekly visit to Dad and his friendship over the years. We wish to express our sincere thanks to all the staff and volunteers at the Misericordia Place for their loving care extended to our Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ed to the historical Kildonan Presbyterian Cemetery, 294 Olive St., Winnipeg, MB, R3J 2X4, or to the Misericordia Foundation for the Misericordia Place, 99 Cornish Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 1A2.
