JOHN THOMAS LONE Tragically, at La Riviere, MB, John Thomas (Tom) Lone passed away at the age of 41 years. Tom will be remembered and sadly missed by his daughter Erica; mother Audrey Lone; his sister Gail Maxwell and her son Brent and friend Megan; daughter Kathy and friend Evan, daughter Shauna and husband John, and granddaughter Jasmine; brother Bill and Pam and daughters, Megan, Angela and friend Brent. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his dad John in 1989. Tom was born on August 29, 1961 at . He was raised on the family farm at Mowbray and attended school at Manitou, later moving with his family to Manitou. Tom worked for many years on Elevator Construction and later for Versatile Manufacturing in Winnipeg. More recently he worked for Holiday Mountain Ski and Golf Resort in La Riviere where he worked with many caring people who were always looking out for his best interests. Tom loved to curl and play baseball with his friends. While working at the ski resort he had the opportunity to ski and try snowboarding. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to the graveside service which will be held at the Manitou Cemetery on Thursday, September 12 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a gathering at Bill and Pams for lunch and fellowship. Urn bearer was his brother Bill. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Pembina Valley Search and Rescue Team, Box 135, La Riviere, MB R0G 1A0, because of their tremendous effort and support in locating Tom.
