CLARA EDITH PETERSON Peacefully and suddenly at home in her sleep, Clara Edith Peterson went to the peace and joy of her heavenly home, at 85 years of age. She will be proudly remembered and deeply missed by her beloved family: her daughter Barbara; her son Colin and his wife Sandy of Winnipeg; her beloved grandchildren, Daniel, David and Risa, all of Winnipeg; her brother Cliff and his wife Thelma of Winnipeg; her sister Eunice and her husband Joe of Mesa, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband George Peterson; her father Edward Green; her mother Nellie Evans; her brothers, Arthur Green, Colin Green, Frank Green and Allan Evans. Born in Giroux, MB on September 22, 1916, "Toots" will be remembered as a thoughtful, generous and caring woman, a loving mother and grandmother, who devoted her life to her family and friends. Memories of meals carefully prepared, delicious baking proudly shared, knitting and needlepoint painstakingly created, phone calls just to say hello, will remind us how much we were always cherished. Mom loved people and glowed with pleasure at any social gathering where family or friends were present. A past Worthy Matron of St. James Chapter No. 25, Order of the Eastern Star, Clara was recently awarded her 50-year pin and was proud to serve as Grand Ruth for the Grand Chapter in 1998-99 and Grand Representative. She was a faithful member of Westworth United Church. Clara made friends and easily became a loyal and dependable friend to many people. She loved to stay in touch with old friends and enjoyed sharing memories of special times shared with her loved ones. With her infectious giggle, her thoughtfulness, and relentless sense of duty, she won the affection and respect of all who knew her. A celebration of Claras life will take place on Thursday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Kirkfield Park United Church, 472 Kirkfield St. at McBey, the Reverends Clark Saunders and Eleanor Gieb officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Please remember Clara by making a donation to a charity of your choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
