Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACQUES EDWIN ROY September 26, 1925 - September 10, 2002 After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Jacques Roy passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Jacques was predeceased by his parents, Judge L.P. Roy and Mrs. Pauline Roy (nee Prudhomme) his sister Louise Roy-Morin; and his brother Paul. He is survived by his brother-in-law Victor Morin; sister-in-law Lucienne Roy; as well as several nieces and nephews. Jacques was an accomplished professional. In his younger years, he worked in the mines. He then became a teacher and taught school for a few years. Later, he pursued his studies in law and practised for several years. Upon his retirement from law, he then worked in the translation department for the province of Manitoba. Jacques also enjoyed his special hobbies. He became a pilot and loved to fly his planes. He was an avid skier and he loved to read. Jacques truly appreciated the good care he received by the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital during his illness. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Fred Olds at the St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd. in Windsor Park on Monday, September 16, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the St. Boniface Basilica Cemetery the following morning.
