R. G. GERRY DAVIDSON On Tuesday, September 10, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer, Gerry passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 50 years, June; three sisters, Enid Irvine, Gertrude Joyce, Anita Balance; sister-in-law Gwen Davidson; five children, Kim (Pat), Bob (Christine), Bill (Shirley), Jim (Colleen), Leanne (Dave) 14 grandchildren, Kelly (Jeff), Jeff (Sheri), Brandy (Bob), Scott, Blake, Jesse, Amanda, Stephen, Timothy, Michael, Daniel, Jason, Riley, Olivia; seven great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Brooke, Joren, Mazlyn, Daniel, Andrew and Alex; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gerry was predeceased by his mother Hazel, father Welly and brother Lorne. Gerry was born and raised in Russell, MB. He moved to Winnipeg in 1951, where he met and married June on July 5, 1952. Gerry worked as a sales representative lastly in real estate, retiring in 1993. Gerry was a member of the Heather Curling Club for many years and enjoyed the seniors league. Golfing and fishing were his summer pastimes, but he mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. The family would like to send heartfelt thanks to the caring staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the St. Boniface Hospital and the wonderful nurses from Homecare, with a special thanks to Marie. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
