MARY CEBROWSKI (nee GRODZIK) The family is saddened to announce the sudden passing of their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Mary, on Saturday evening, September 14, 2002, at Park Manor Personal Care Home. Mom was born on April 1, 1914, on the family farm in Springfield to Nick and Sophie Grodzik, one of the original pioneer settlers of the area. On September 1, 1934, she married our dad John and they made their home in Transcona. Mom was predeceased by her husband in July 1970; both parents; and by two brothers, Bill and Mike Grodzik. She is survived by her son Michael (Lorraine), grandson Jim (Jennifer), granddaughter Nadine (Norm), great-granddaughter Caitlin; daughter Virginia Knysh (Joe) and granddaughter Andrea (Dale). Also left to mourn her passing is her sister-in-law Nellie Grodzik, niece Vicky Low, nephew Bob Grodzik, niece Mary Hrassnig and their families. Mom was a member of All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church for most of her adult life and was quite active while her health permitted. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home. Although her stay at Park Manor was a brief five months, she was extremely happy being a resident there and spoke highly of all the staff and excellent care she received from each of you. She truly appreciated all that you did to make her happy. Thank you also to Dr. Kevin Grace from the Transcona Medical Clinic for many years of caring and support. Prayers will be sung on Wednesday, September 18 at 8:00 p.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1500 Day St. Funeral Rite Service will be held on Thursday, September 19 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church, with Fr. Bill Wasyliw officiating. Interment will follow at Transcona Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be Michael Dutchuk, Bob Grodzik, Tom McConnell, Steve Maydaniuk, Ken Omeniuk and Mike Sajatovic. Mom had a love for all animals and concern for their well being was an important part of her life. In lieu of flowers, if family and fiends so desire, a donation in moms memory can be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3, or to All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1500 Day St., Winnipeg, MB, R2C 1E4. Father in Heaven, hear our prayer Guard our mother with tender care Be a good Shepherd, dont leave her alone Love her as we loved her, When she was at home Forever in our memories.
