PERE APPELLE Passed away peacefully at the Sharon Home on September 15, 2002. She is survived by her husband Samuel (Sam), her stepsons Gerry, Harvey (Faye) and Morry (Chris), her grandchildren Beverley, Rochelle, Sheldon (Aundrea), Amy, Ben, great-grandchildren Daniel and Mikaela. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Fanny, nephew Irwin. Pere was born in Meziritsh, Poland on March 17, 1909. She was active in Hadassah and Bnai Brith Women. She volunteered for over 30 years with Sara Hochman at the Sharon Home, organizing and participating in the monthly birthday parties. A graveside service was held on September 18 at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery with Rabbi Neil Rose officiating. Pallbearers were Harvey, Sheldon Appelle, Abe Globerman, Harvey Litman, Jack Buchalter and Morley Wiseman. The family would like to express their grateful appreciation to the staff at the Sharon Home, especially on the third floor. Thanks also to Peres companion Nita Arceo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests the donations be made to the Sharon Home. You can now rest peacefully. We love you and will miss you greatly.
