Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNICE T. CRANE (Bronya Tkachuk) August 25, 1926 - November 18, 2000 (Interment of ashes) Bear Valley Springs resident, Bernice T. Crane, 74, passed away November 18, 2000 in Merced County, CA. Bernice was born August 25, 1926 in Winnipeg, the daughter of Peter and Elena Tkachuk, both of Ukraine. She married her husband of 54 years, Ted Crane, on August 26, 1946 in Winnipeg. They moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1948. Four beloved children were born of this union. Before retiring to Bear Valley Springs, CA, Bernice enjoyed being a guest judge at Shakespearean festivals at high schools in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, CA. She loved crocheting beautiful blankets and afghans for her children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was an avid reader. Bernice loved life and loved her family. She is dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Bernice is survived by her husband, Ted, of Bear Valley Springs; daughters, Teddi Anne Crane of Los Angeles and Teresa Hamilton of Corte Madera, CA; sons, Jeffrey Crane and his wife, Gina, of Granada Hills, CA, and Timothy Crane of Ventura, CA; grandchildren, Justin and his wife Melissa, and Jahna Crane, Kindra Schwam, Jonathan Hamilton, Michael, Matthew and Tristan Crane; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Caitlin Bernice Crane; her sister Hanya Leitch of Woodland Hills, CA; loving cousins, the Kozub family and spouses of Winnipeg; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, William (Sonny) Tkachuk, Peter Tkachuk and Mary Woodrow. Interment of ashes will take place at Elmwood Cemetery on Thursday, September 19, 2002 at 12:00 p.m. It was Bernices wish to have her ashes placed at her parents gravesite.
