Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH HARDING The family of Elizabeth (Betty) Harding (nee Senick) announce her peaceful passing on September 16, 2002 at Pinecrest Home for the Aged. Elizabeth was born on March 2, 1918 in Winnipeg, MB. She was raised on her parents farm in Teulon, MB. Elizabeth later moved to Winnipeg, where she married Edward Harding on January 22, 1944. Together they raised five children in Madsen, ON. In 1980 they moved to Vancouver, BC. There, Elizabeth became an active member in the Neighbourhood House where she enjoyed bingo, cribbage and an active social calendar with many friends and neighbours. In 1999, Elizabeth and Edward moved back to Northwestern Ontario to be closer to their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were content in Pinecrest Home for the Aged. Elizabeth often remarked that with all of the care she received at Pinecrest she felt like the Queen. Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 58 years, Edward Harding; her sister Julie and Tom Smith of British Columbia; her brother Walter and Pearlie Senick of Winnipeg; her brother William Senick of Teulon; her sisters-in-law, Bertha Senick of Teulon and Cassie Senick of Vancouver. Moms memory will live on in the hearts of her daughters, Evelyn (John) Coop (Kelowna, BC), Diane (Arthur) Osborne (Arviat, NWT), Susan (Lee) Beasant (Kenora, ON). Also her sons, Ron (Arlene) Harding, Brian (Lori) Harding, all of Red Lake, ON. Grammas smile, infectious laugh and perogies will be missed by her granddaughters, Nicole (Ryan) Lentz (Kenora), Paula Coop (Toronto, ON), Emily White (Calgary, AB), and Alexis Harding (Red Lake). Also by her grandsons, Dylan (Kate) Beasant (Kelowna), Blair Beasant (Kenora). Little Gramma will have her hands full up in heaven, watching over her great-grandsons, Skylar and Connor Lentz (Kenora). Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, William and Pearl Senick; and her brothers, Mervin and John Senick. The family would like to thank the wonderful nursing professionals of the third floor of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital for their care, compassion and continuous support during Elizabeths stay in hospital. We are also indebted to the wonderful bedside care offered by Emergency Nurse, Ian Casey, while we waited for her transfer to Winnipeg. The family also expresses our appreciation for the care, compassion and humour of the nurses at Pinecrest over the last three years. Your retelling of stories of Mom were a wonderful comfort following her passing. Finally, an enormous thank you to Fr. Darren Gallivan of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, for bringing prayer and faith to our family in our time of need. Your presence meant so much to Mom and helped us all find strength in the word of God. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Elizabeths name to the Picture of Health Campaign, CT Scanner Fund at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital. A scanner in Kenora could have bought us more time with our mother, gramma and great-gramma. Memorial service to take place at Mackenzie Funeral Chapel, in Teulon, MB, as per Elizabeths request, on Thursday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dylan and Blair Beasant and Ryan Lentz; sons-in-law, Lee Beasant and Arthur Osborne; and family friend Ervin Biedler. Interment to take place at the Windsor Cemetery, Teulon, MB. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon, in charge of arrangements.
